The club now has a different format for the XC races throughout the Autumn and Winter months. The best 5 results out of 13 races will count towards winning trophies for a number of age categories.
Here are the current tables to view now:
This is a series of five cross country races and is a competition for the local running clubs around Leeds. Each club can enter as many members as they wish, there are competitions for individual runners as well as teams of runners which are simply based on mens and ladies teams, there is also a mens and ladies veterans team competition.
The dates for the 2017/18 season of PECO cross country races are listed below and are now complete. If you are unsure what they entail please speak to the team captains/vice captains – Hadrian Knight, Paul Brown, Carole Clifford or Paula Brook. They are club events and very popular and worth giving a go!

Sunday 10th December 2017 – Temple Newsam
Sunday 7th January 2018 – Roundhay Park
Sunday 21st January – Golden Acre Park
Sunday 11th February – Middleton Park (We are co-hosting this with Hyde Park Harriers and we need to provide approximately 25 helpers)
Rothwell Harriers Men have achieved promotion from the first division back into the premier division for this coming season.
Rothwell Harriers Ladies remain in the second division and we’re looking to gain promotion back into the first division for next season.
The way our teams can win promotion is to have at least 8 runners competing in each race for both the mens team (8 runners) and ladies team (only 5 runners), there can be more than 8 runners but it’s the fastest 8 runners to cross the finish line in the men’s team that score points for the team, i.e. 1 point for 1st overall, 2 points for 2nd overall etc.
So, if our team of men consist of 12 runners and the fastest 8 finish in 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th and 80th place, the men’s team will score 360 points (10+20+30+40+50+60+70+80). The team with the lowest number of points wins that day and is awarded 1 point. The team who is awarded the lowest number of points at the end of the 5 races is announced as the winning team in each division.
Previous results of the leagues overall can be found here: Peco Home Page
In addition to the PECO league, we have in the past had our own in-club competition so no matter how we do as teams, we have had our own winners within the club and receive club trophies for their efforts. As described above, from 2017-18 season our in-club XC Championships are based on the best 5 of 13 XC races available.
